UPDATE: As good as the Cafe Konditorei Dornbach was, it unfortunately does not exist anymore.
The Cafe Konditorei Dornbach actually serves everything that contributes to a leisurely breakfast: a reasonable selection of reasonable priced good breakfasts with fresh bread rolls, friendly service in a bright and modern ambience, and a bus station in front of the door.
The menu is straight forward and offers four to five breakfast options as well as ham and eggs or cereal. The "Dornbach Breakfast" comes with coffee, tea or hot chocolate and freshly squeezed orange juice. The two pieces of bread rolls, which can be chosen from different varieties, provide the foundation for three types of cheese, salami, ham and jam, honey or cream cheese. An egg in the glass, garnished with chives, completes the extensive breakfast. On request there is a vegetarian option.
The namesake "Dornbach" is part of the 17th district in Vienna, which was first mentioned in documents in the middle of the 12th century. In Andergasse, where the cafe is located, there were only nine houses in 1840. Noble and wealthy citizens liked the area and built villas or summer houses here. While you came to Dornbach with a horse tramway starting in 1865, you can comfortably use the bus today. You can still feel a bit of that time when looking at the pictures on the wall.
Of course it does not necessarily have to be a breakfast. You can also enjoy your afternoon coffee with a pastry here.
